Salus didn't start in a boardroom. It started here — looking out from our living room into the Japanese garden you see above, built by hand over 22 years.
Scott's journey with meditation, stress management, and therapy spans over 40 years — long before mindfulness apps existed, before the iPhone, before "wellness" was an industry. His path has taken him from the temples of Japan to the rice terraces of Bali to the mountains of China, studying with practitioners and teachers along the way. Through decades of personal experience with meditation, ASMR, CBT, counselling, and every relaxation technique imaginable, one thing became clear: these tools genuinely work. But finding them shouldn't require a subscription to a faceless corporation backed by expensive celebrity endorsements.
When our daughter Ella completed her BSc (Hons) and MSc in Psychology, something clicked. We had the lived experience and the psychological expertise under one roof. We could build something different — something that combined decades of personal understanding with rigorous academic knowledge.
That's Salus. A family project built with love, lived experience, and proper psychology. Every session is clinically reviewed. Every technique is evidence-based. And every message you send us is read and answered by a real person.
We're not here to take your money and disappear. We're here because we know what it's like to struggle with anxiety, sleeplessness, and stress — and we know these tools can help, because they helped us first.
Scott has always felt drawn to the wisdom traditions of Asia — their emphasis on stillness, presence, and inner peace.

These journeys shaped the philosophy behind Salus — the understanding that true calm comes not from doing more, but from learning to be present with what is. The Japanese concept of wa (harmony), the Balinese practice of Tri Hita Karana (balance with self, others, and nature), and the Chinese wisdom of wu wei (effortless action) all find their way into our approach.
The tsukubai (water basin) pictured here — photographed by Scott in Kyoto — bears an inscription that reads "I learn only to be contented." A reminder that peace comes from within.
Every session is grounded in peer-reviewed research. We work with psychologists to ensure clinical accuracy and safety.
Meditation shouldn't be gatekept. We offer free sessions alongside premium content so everyone can start their journey.
No gamification, no streaks, no guilt. Salus is designed to support you — not exploit your attention.
Every Salus session is reviewed for psychological safety and clinical accuracy.
“My father spent over 40 years searching for ways to manage stress, anxiety, and sleeplessness — through mindfulness, meditation, cognitive behavioural therapy, breathwork, acupuncture, and every technique he could find. When I completed my psychology degrees, we realised we could combine his lived experience with clinical knowledge to help others. Salus is that vision: evidence-based mindfulness, built by a family who truly understands what it means to struggle — and to heal.”

Founder
With over 40 years of personal experience with mindfulness, meditation, cognitive behavioural therapy, counselling, breathwork, visualisation, progressive relaxation, acupuncture, and ASMR — including time spent studying in Japan, Bali, and China — Scott built Salus from lived experience, not a business plan.
Long before mindfulness apps existed, before the iPhone, before "wellness" became an industry — the journey had already begun. Decades of searching, practising, and learning what actually works.
Salus is the result of all that experience, combined with psychological expertise from daughter Ella. A family project, built with love. No expensive celebrities. No venture capital. Just real tools that work, because they worked for us first.
The mind behind every session.
Consultant · BSc (Hons) · MSc Psychology
Ella is the mind behind Salus. With a BSc (Hons) and MSc in Psychology, she reviews every session for psychological safety, clinical accuracy, and therapeutic integrity.
Growing up watching her father's decades-long journey with meditation and therapy, Ella saw first-hand how these tools could transform someone's life. Her academic training gave her the framework to understand why — and the expertise to ensure Salus does it properly.
She's not just a consultant. She's family. And that's exactly why the science behind Salus is something you can trust.

Narrator & Voice Artist
Marco is the voice you'll hear across every Salus session — from guided meditations and sleep stories to breathing exercises and educational content. His warm, grounded tone has a way of making you feel like you're being guided by someone who genuinely cares.
With a background in vocal performance and a lifelong interest in mindfulness, Marco brings a calm presence that listeners describe as both reassuring and deeply personal. He's not reading scripts — he's sharing something he believes in.
Over time, we hope you'll come to feel like you know him. That's the point. Salus isn't faceless. It's personal — and Marco is a big part of that.
We're not a helpdesk. We're a family. If you need support, have a question, or just want to say hello — we'd love to hear from you. We're also open to ideas. If there's something you'd like to see in Salus, let us know. This is a personal project, not a corporation — your voice genuinely shapes what we build next.
